- REDUCE EMISSIONS: The DENSO Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor (AFR) is one of the most sensitive components on your car engine. The sensor measures the air-to-fuel mixture in the exhaust stream under a wide range of driving conditions and sends information to the engine management computer to make adjustments based on driving conditions. This sensor reduces fuel consumption and emissions, and maximizes catalytic converter life by keeping the air-fuel mixture at an optimum ratio
